  • Version 2.5.0

    In 2.5.0 we have streamlined certain functionality to improve the performance of your application and made it easier for you (and us) to maintain the content on your site. Here is an overview of a few new features we have implemented:

    Updated "The Core" methods/settings

    • Updated methods increase performance
    • Removed previously deprecated functions (DARF) to reduce weight of library
    • Removed deprecated stats module and completely replaced with Google Analytics, which offers better stats data
    • Page content now sent using GZIP Compression for faster loadtimes
    • Caching optimised to serve cached content to user faster with less server overheads
    • Organised core files into relevant directories

    Templates and Slots now part of "The Core"

    • Template and slot functionality now moved to the core
    • Removed from Common functions
    • Increases performance for apps that use this functionality (Most)

    Database classes updated and moved

    • Database functionality now moved to "The Core"
    • New user class for loading, creating, editing user data including new permissions data
    • Updated pages class (See pages info below)

    Better Google API integration

    • Google API PHP Client 0.4.7 now available with library
    • Removed files from Google Analytics API for PHP (GAPI) v1.3 that are no longer needed
    • New core methods available to make extraction of analytics data easier from GAPI class

    Admin module makeover

    • A new, modern web layout with better degradation for non-javascript users
    • Introduction of 'bulk actions' for non-javascript users
    • Better UI/X utilising JQuery and JQuery UI library
    • New homepage dashboard with updated information and modification options
    • Personilsation options for user within the admin module
    • Re-engineered permissions engine to allow better control over admin users
    • Pages management pushed as main management tool
    • New "livepanel" for quick maintainance on records through optional inline editor and link backs to further editing options.
    • Banners are now part of widgets and assigned to pages through the "page widgets" options

    Help section and User guides introduced

    • Section introduced to help users with Open Objects functionality
    • User guides have been created to help with training users on the admin system
    • Download a user guide
